1Export 5 files from Tally
TallyLens reads 5 files that Tally can export in seconds. Open each report in Tally, press Alt+E and choose XML as the format. Save all 5 into one folder.

Important: export the Trial Balance in Detailed mode (press Alt+F5 so every ledger shows). Without it, party-wise reports like ageing and balance confirmation will be limited.
Your books are safe — you are only exporting files. TallyLens never connects to Tally and needs no password.
2Install TallyLens
- Double-click TallyLens Setup.exe.
- If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway (it’s safe; the app just isn’t code-signed yet).
- It installs in seconds and opens automatically. A TallyLens shortcut is added to your Start menu.
3Load your data
- Click Upload Tally XML (top-right) → Choose files.
- Select all 5 XML files you exported → Open.
- You’ll see “Files loaded.” Type your company name and click Save — so your data is there next time without re-uploading.
Each month, export the 5 files again and Save a new period. TallyLens builds your month-on-month history automatically.
4Explore your reports
Use the left menu — reports are grouped by who needs them:
- Owner dashboard — sales, profit, cash, who owes you, top items, all on one screen.
- Finance — Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Cash & Bank, Ageing.
- Sales / Purchase — overviews, customer/supplier-wise, top items, fast vs slow movers.
- Inventory — stock value, movement, non-moving & dead stock, reorder signals.
- Audit (CA) — audit checks, ledger scrutiny, balance confirmation letters.
5Share a report
- Export PDF or Image — saves a clean copy of the report you’re viewing.
- WhatsApp — pick a contact and send the report as a sharp document, in one click. (First time, scan the QR once to link your WhatsApp.)
6Switch company or period
Use the two dropdowns at the top-left to switch between saved companies and months. The whole app updates instantly.
Your data is private. Everything is processed and stored on your own PC. TallyLens works fully offline — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
